One strategy that I picked up on the second day of the�Billion Dollar Marketing Weekend conducted by Jay Abraham was on the optimal use of brochures. In the past, you�might have received requests for brochures of the product or service you were offering.

If you are like most other business owners, you would probably have mailed out�your brochure with either a name card or a simple letter of “Enclosed is the brochure you requested.”

The bad news is that you are leaving plenty of money on the table.�The good news, however,�is that with a simple tweak, you can drastically improve your sales conversion from such brochure requests.

Here I am in China�writing at the end of the first day�of Jay Abraham’s Billion Dollar Marketing Weekend. It’s a huge event with more than 500 participants. Managing such a huge scale event can be a nightmare. Nevertheless, the people from China were certainly hungry for knowledge.

One point that Jay spoke about was on the use of consultative selling. If you are not using consultative selling but other forms of selling, you could easily increase your closing rate by 10% to more than 200% if you started adopting consultative selling. He recommended having your entire sales force trained in this area.

Here in Singapore where I am, these few days are public holidays as we celebrate the Lunar New Year. Well, I don’t really celebrate much so I made use of the extra break to provide some updates.

Just a few days ago, I was informed by Success Resources that Jay Abraham will be conducting a three day seminar from 11th to 13rd August 06. The venue of the seminar will be at Putra World Trade Centre in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

I was surprised as Jay had just conducted a similar seminar in Singapore just last year. Anyway, you can find out more information on the seminar at the Success Resources website.

There, you can also watch a video clip snippet of Jay in action, a couple of teleconferences and also a powertalk interview that Jay did with Anthony Robbins. All for free. You might want to have a look at it now in case they decide to remove them one day. 🙂

The Jay Abraham seminar to be held over this weekend in Singapore is currently priced at $5995 (Singapore dollars). It includes the seminar, a business growth program grounding package and a few coaching calls. If you have been to similar seminars, you will know that people who sign up early usually pay a lower early bird rate as they commit their money earlier. This is more or less standard industry practice.

Unfortunately, because of this simple fact, it would not be possible for me to get a price that I felt would be attractive (compared to the early birds). Thus, I have decided (with regrets) not to make an official announcement for this promotion.

Well, Jay’s coming over to my hometown to deliver an intensive 3 days Billion Dollar Marketing Weekend from 27-29 Aug 05. I think the last time he came to Singapore to deliver a full fledged seminar was more than ten years ago. Unfortunately, from the looks of it, I will not be able to attend as my schedule is already booked for two of those days. 🙁

Nevertheless, I’m still trying to arrange with the seminar organiser, Success Resources Pte Ltd, for a special price for loyal members of this site. Ideally, I had hoped to iron out details early but things are moving a bit slowly at the moment. Hopefully, something concrete can be worked out soon.
