Stay Hungry Stay Foolish

Stay Hungry Stay Foolish” – those was the parting words of Steve Jobs for his commencement speech at Stanford in 2005.

I chanced upon his inspiring speech on youtube, and thought I would share it with you here.

Life is about connecting the dots, and you can only do it when you look back, never when you look forward. Believing that the dots will somehow connect in the future will give you the confidence to follow your heart.

Sometimes, life is going to hit you in the head with a brick. Don’t lose faith. You got to find what you love – and that is true for work as well as for your lover. Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do.

If you live each day as if it was your last, someday you will most certainly be right. Remembering that he will be dead soon is the most important tool Steve uses to help him make the big choices in life. Almost everything fall away in the face of death, leaving only what is truly important.

Stay hungry, stay foolish.
