The Seventeen Stratagems of Success by Spike Humer

At the Jay Abraham Reunion Reunion event held a couple of weeks ago, Spike Humer spoke about the 17 stratagems of success, something that he came up with.

Without going into details, here’s the list of the 17 stratagems. Try to think about these in the context of your own business.

  1. Having an effective vision for yourself, your business and the world.
  2. Focus on bringing value to all your stakeholders, not just your clients.
  3. Knowing yourself (and what you are not)
  4. Recognise your value and your contributions.
  5. Become great in (at least) one thing.
  6. Having a personal and professional philosophy to base all your decisions on.
  7. Having consistency and knowing what you are willing/unwilling to do.
  8. Gravitate towards greatness.
  9. Have the end in mind and know what it is.
  10. Know the potential impact of your vision and actions.
  11. Having a clear plan that includes both strategies and tactics.
  12. Keep making incremental improvements. Look for quantum leaps via innovation.
  13. Systemize, measure and manage.
  14. Be consistent and accountable about your vision and goals.
  15. Be flexible.
  16. Develop alternative strategies if it doesn’t work and expansion strategies if it works better than expected.
  17. Master “trisight” – foresight, insight and hindsight.

And in case you were wondering, no, I was not at the event. 🙂

    Hi Martin

    Very topical.

Did you know that Spike has posted the video of his presentation on Google videos?

I didn’t go to the event either or buy the home study. Former protege Mitch Axelrod has put together an excellent summary audio briefing of the Jay Abraham Reunion event.
